What colony origin means

You choose it under “Origin”:

• “Split” — the colony was split off from another of your colonies;
• “Own swarm” — a swarm caught from your own apiary;
• “Foreign swarm” — a stray swarm you caught;
• “Package” — a package of bees you bought;
• “Purchased colony” — a ready-made colony you bought;
• “Created automatically” — the app created the colony during first setup;
• “Unknown” — the origin was not recorded.

For splits, swarms and merges the app sets the link to the mother colony itself, and that link shows up in the “Pedigree”.
