How to create a colony

Into an empty hive. Open the hive card. Under “Colony” you will see “Hive is empty” and a “Move a colony in” button. Tap it and say whether this is a new colony — one you have just bought, for instance — or one you are moving across from elsewhere. Don’t forget the “Housing date”, then tap “Move a colony in”.

With no hive. Open “Bees” → “Colonies”, tap the add button Add button and choose “New colony”. This is how you record a package that is still on its way, or a swarm sitting in a swarm box. You can put the colony into a hive later with the “Move a colony in” button on its card.

On the colony card you fill in the “Colony name” (“Carnica from Peter”, say), the “Origin” and the date.
