Breeds and traits: what they affect

The breed is picked from a list — Carniolan, Buckfast, Carpathian, local, Italian, Central Russian, Caucasian and others. Each one comes with a short description.

The traits under “Genetics” are your own three-step assessment: low, medium or high. The app does not calculate them and does not use them in any of its own maths.

They come into their own when you are choosing a mother colony for rearing queens. From the rearing record these ratings go into the PDF report, into the “Queen characteristics” section.

The history of these ratings is kept, so you can see how your assessment shifted from season to season.
