Apian HelpРусскийBack to apian.app

First setup: apiary, hives and colonies

After your first sign-in, Apian offers a wizard called “Set up your apiary”.

The wizard is a quick way to build the basic structure of your apiary.

1. Add your apiaries

Under “Your apiaries”, enter the name of your first apiary.

If you keep bees in several locations, tap “One more apiary” and add the rest.

2. Enter the number of hives

For each apiary, set how many hives should be created.

3. Set up the hives

Under “Hive setup”, enter:

  • the box type of your hives;
  • the number of frames per box;
  • the number of boxes per hive.

These values are used when the hives are created.

4. Create the structure

Tap the button at the bottom of the screen:

“Create N apiaries and M hives”.

Apian will automatically create:

  • the apiaries;
  • numbered hives;
  • a storage apiary (“Warehouse”);
  • a colony and a queen for every hive;
  • the make-up of each hive — floor, boxes and roof.

After that you can get straight to work.

Can the wizard be skipped?

Yes. Tap “Skip” if you would rather set your apiaries up by hand later.

The wizard is only there to get you going quickly — apiaries, hives, colonies and everything else you create later behave in exactly the same way.
