Hive QR codes: generating and printing
Generating a QR code
You generate a QR code on the hive card, under “Identification”. Tap “Generate” and the app creates a QR code for this hive. If you already have a QR code on the hive and want to link it instead, tap “Scan”; the app may ask for permission to take photos and video — allow it, and scan the code on the hive. The app links it to this hive card.
You can also generate codes for several hives of an apiary at once. Tap the three dots menu
on the apiary card, choose “Additional” and then “Generate QR codes”. A new screen opens at the bottom listing every hive in that apiary that does not have a code yet. Tick the hives you want codes for and tap “Generate”. A QR symbol then appears on those hive cards.
Printing QR codes
Tap the three dots menu
on the apiary card, choose “Additional” and then “Print hive QR codes”. In the list that appears, select the hives whose codes you want to print. Tap “Create PDF” and choose whichever app you normally use to view PDFs on your device — the system will offer you the options. The PDF of QR codes opens, ready to print.
